demonstration program, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 5681
and A. 7399-A, in relation to the services provided, the monitoring of

of certain provisions of such chapter relating thereto

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
To increase access to community based services for individuals with
developmental disabilities.

SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
This bill would require the commissioner of the Office for People with
Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to utilize the state workforce for
the provision of community based services for individuals with develop-
mental disabilities, until March 31, 2020. Such services may include but
are not limited to: community habilitation, in-home respite, pathways to
employment, supported employment, and community prevocational services.

to community based services and enabling individuals to live independ-
ently in their community.

This is a new bill.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Undetermined.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a
