An act to amend chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, amending the public
authorities law relating to the construction and financing of facilities
for certain public libraries, in relation to including the Shelter
Island Public Library Society
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
This bill would add the Shelter Island Public Library Society to the
list of entities which are eligible for DASNY services.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one Amends Section 5 of Chapter 672 of the Laws of 1993, amend-
ing the public authorities law, by adding the Shelter Island Public
Library Society to the list of entities eligible for services provided
by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY).
Section two is the effective date.
JUSTIFICATION:
The bill would extend DASNY financing and construction authorization to
the Shelter Island Public Library Society to help finance the expansion
and renovation of the library. If successful, these DASNY services will
provide stability to the project and save taxpayers money on interest
when compared with a private sector loan.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect immediately.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 5 of chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, amending the
2 public authorities law relating to the construction and financing of
3 facilities for certain public libraries, is amended by adding a new
4 subdivision 55 to read as follows:
5 55. Shelter Island Public Library Society.
6 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
