        Introduced  by  M.  of  A.  PEOPLES-STOKES,  GUNTHER, ROSENTHAL, TITONE,
          GLICK, LUPARDO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Insurance
 
        AN ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation  to  coverage  of  annual
          chlamydia screenings
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 4303 of the insurance law is amended  by  adding  a
     2  new subsection (rr) to read as follows:
     3    (rr)  A  medical  expense  indemnity  corporation,  a hospital service
     4  corporation or a health service corporation which provides coverage  for
     5  hospital, surgical, or medical care shall provide coverage for an annual
     6  chlamydia  screening  for men and women. Such coverage may be subject to
     7  annual deductibles and coinsurance as may be deemed appropriate  by  the
     8  superintendent  and  as  are consistent with those established for other
     9  benefits within a given policy.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
