          Murray) -- read once and referred to the  Committee  on  Corporations,
          Authorities and Commissions
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  public authorities law, in relation to the Long
          Island power authority and power supply management services
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Section 1020-f of the public authorities law, as added by
     2  chapter 517 of the laws of 1986, is amended by adding a new  subdivision
     3  (ii) to read as follows:
     4    (ii) Power supply management services. The authority shall not author-
     5  ize  the  service  provider  to  perform  any  power  supply  management
     6  services, electric resource planning services or  related  services  for
     7  the  authority if the service provider or any of its affiliates owns any
     8  electric generation that competes, directly or indirectly,  with  gener-
     9  ation located in the authority's service area, including, but not limit-
    10  ed  to,  generation that sells, directly or indirectly, electricity into
    11  the authority's service area.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
