Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,I,C-East Northport) and Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) hosted their first Boating Awareness Day. The two legislators were joined by members of the U.S. Coast Guard, local police and fire departments, and local boaters for a day of fun and responsible education. The festivities included vendors, nonprofits, businesses, and marine organizations tabling at the Northport Village Dock on Main Street.

“It’s important that everyone exercises boating responsibility and maritime caution so that a day of fun doesn’t turn into a tragedy,” said Raia. “Making certain that everyone remains safe throughout the summer months is absolutely vital and our Boating Awareness Day went a long way to ensuring that. Although the weather wasn’t optimal, we had a great crowd come out to the Northport Village Dock, and I hope everyone was able to learn something new.”
