Ra, Curran Honor Washington Street School

Elementary school in Franklin Square had most participants in reading challenge

Assemblymen Ed Ra (R-19th District) and Brian Curran (Lynnbrook – 14th AD) joined forces today to congratulate Washington Street Elementary School in Franklin Square for having the most students participate in their co-sponsored summer reading challenge.

"Reading is the cornerstone to unlocking every child’s imagination and creativity, as well as the most essential skill for every person to have," said Ra. "I would like to congratulate the faculty at the Washington Street School for their success in encouraging our children to not only partake in the contest, but to win it. I would also like to thank the students for taking part in the summer reading challenge, as their participation showed the initiative and drive to succeed in education that every child should have."
