Assemblywoman Solages Announces Homeowner Financial Assistance Workshop

Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages will host a free homeowner’s assistance workshop at the Elmont Memorial Library

Elmont, New York – New York State Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages (D-Elmont) will host a free workshop to discuss financial resources available for New York State Homeowners. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 6:45p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Elmont Memorial Library, 700 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont, NY 11003.

This free workshop will highlight the New York State Attorney General Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP). The MAP initiative will assist struggling Homeowners to qualify for mortgage modifications by providing small loans. MAP is an addition to the Attorney General’s Homeowners Protection Program (HOPP), started in October 2012, which is aimed at providing free legal and housing counseling services.

“Our goal is to uplift the community of Long Island as well as the larger economy by providing assistance to homeowners that are at risk of losing their home,” said Assemblywoman Solages. With foreclosure rates peaking at 6.3%, the Assemblywoman remains committed to the community. All homeowners are encouraged to attend and learn about the resources available through New York State.

Housing counselors will be present to answer your questions and concerns regarding mortgage relief. In addition, Jacki Rogoff, Director of Labor & Industry for Education, Inc. (L.I.F.E) will be present to discuss alternative options available to families in need. For questions and further information, please contact the District Office of Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages at (516) 599-2972.
