Pheffer Amato to Serve on Influential Standing Committees

Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Rockaway) announced that she will be serving on the following Assembly Standing Committees for the 2017 legislative session:

Veterans Affairs
Consumer Affairs
Racing & Wagering
Governmental Employees
“I am excited to participate on such influential committees; Speaker Heastie recognizes the unique needs of our community which mirrors all of New York State,” Pheffer Amato said. “As a granddaughter of a World War II Veteran, it is my honor to serve on the Veterans Affairs Committee and I will work tirelessly to ensure members of our military are taken care of.” As a small business owner, Pheffer Amato says, she has firsthand experience with protecting consumer’s rights and firmly believes that every New Yorker must be treated fairly by all businesses – regardless of their size. Pheffer Amato also stated that serving on the Racing & Wagering Committee allows her the opportunity to support great revenue and job producing enterprises throughout New York State, including those in her own district, the Aqueduct Racetrack and Resorts World Casino. Pheffer Amato mentioned she is proud of the successes of these industries within her community, and looks forward to seeing them thrive. Additionally, Pheffer Amato said that she is proud to be representing our police officers, firefighters, sanitation workers, and teachers to name a few, who faithfully serve our great city and state by retaining a seat on the Governmental Employees Committee. “Serving on these dynamic committees is just another way to give families in southern Queens a strong voice in Albany,” said Pheffer Amato. “I look forward to carrying on the legacy of my predecessor Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder, as well as working together with my Assembly and Senate colleagues to move New York and Queens forward.”
