Pheffer Amato at First Hurricane Relief Task Force Meeting with Borough President Melinda Katz

This past Thursday, March 9th, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Rockaway), Borough President Melinda Katz and community leaders were briefed by officials from the City’s Build-It-Back program as part of a March 9th meeting of the Borough President’s Hurricane Relief Task Force. The briefing took place at Queens Borough Hall. BIB officials focused on recent developments in their charge of repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

“I deeply appreciate the Borough President for convening this task force, and for involving me and my predecessor in borough-wide hurricane response,” said Pheffer Amato. “This was my first meeting with the team after years of local advocacy. I’m glad to see that Build-It-Back is finally accomplishing some of its most important goals. I look forward to continuing to work with the Borough President and local leadership to, at long last, get our neighbors back in their homes and to repair our damaged communities.”
