Pheffer Amato Presents Award to Top-Selling Girl Scout

Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Far Rockaway) met this past Tuesday, July 18th, with Jayda Crenshaw, a ten-year-old student from Far Rockaway, who sold 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies this past year and became the top seller in Queens County. There were more than 10,000 Queens Girl Scouts competing for the top spot during the 2016-2017 sales year, which was the 100th anniversary of the world-famous Girl Scout Cookie sale. Girl Scout Cookie sales go to raise money for each girl’s scout troop, which gets used for enrichment activities and community service.

Crenshaw and her mother, Danielle, stopped by Pheffer Amato's district office in Rockaway Park. Pheffer Amato has long been a booster for women entrepreneurs. The Assemblywoman talked shop with Crenshaw, congratulated her on her superlative sales effort, and presented her with an official proclamation on behalf of the State Assembly.
