Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Rockaway Beach) spent time this past Saturday at the Rockaway 31-Hour Summer Festival, a two-day-all-night community party hosted by the Peninsula Branch of the Queens Public Library. The Festival started on Saturday at 10:00AM and continued overnight, ending Sunday at 5:00PM. It included story times, face painting, balloon animals, crafts, concerts, outdoor movies, yoga, beach meditation, a pop-up “library on the sidewalk,” and more.

“This was really amazing,” said Pheffer Amato. “There were tons of families participating – many walking into the library for the first time since Sandy. The Queens Library is an incredible resource for our community, for everyone from students to parents to the elderly to those seeking jobs. This festival was a celebration, a demonstration and a great chance to come together as a community – congrats to the Library and all the fantastic volunteers!”
