Rozic Secures Street Signage in Fresh Meadows

Ensures Greater Safety at Little Meadows Early Childhood Center

Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows), with the cooperation of the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT), recently secured “No Standing on School Days” signs for a local daycare, Little Meadows Early Childhood Center. Last year, the Center expressed concerns for the safety of the children in their program when they noticed a surge of cars parking in front of the building during all times of day. Fifty parents signed and submitted a petition to Rozic’s office requesting for a solution to this problem.

Rozic later visited the daycare site with DOT Queens Borough Commissioner Nicole Garcia to urge the DOT to expedite the placement of these signs. This new signage ensures that children will be safe during morning drop off and afternoon pick up, and that bus flow and traffic issues will subside. Little Meadows Early Childhood Center caters to toddlers and children with all ability levels.

“Working with the local community to quickly and efficiently bring about tangible positive changes is what my job is all about. I thank the administration at Little Meadows for highlighting this problem and applaud the DOT for assisting us with a solution that works best for the neighborhood,” said Rozic.
