Assemblywoman Rozic Announces US Virgin Islands Kosher for Passover Food Drive

Rozic Joins Service Mission to US Virgin Islands to Aid Jewish Community

Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D-Fresh Meadows) announced today that she will be traveling on a service mission to help with recovery efforts in the US Virgin Islands. In response to requests from local rabbis on St. Thomas and St. Croix, Rozic’s office will be collecting non-perishable Kosher for Passover food items in preparation for the holiday.

“As we live our daily lives, it is all too easy to forget that many families are still struggling. We cannot neglect their plight,” said Assemblywoman Nily Rozic. “With the Passover holiday quickly approaching, now more than ever, our help is needed.”

Months after the US Virgin Islands were devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the territories continue to recover from the destruction, dealing with power outages and continued difficulty accessing certain food and supplies. Rozic is reaching out to the local Jewish community throughout New York to participate in this initiative.

“It is our responsibility to help others in their time of need, both near and far,” Rozic added.

Food contributions may be dropped off at 159-16 Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows, Monday- Friday, 10am-5pm until March 12th. For additional questions, please contact Rozic’s office directly at rozicn@nyassembly.gov or 718-820-0241.
