Assistant Speaker Ortiz and OATH Commissioner Del Valle Host Community Roundtable in Sunset Park to Assist Residents and Small Businesses Who Get Summonses from City Agencies
On Thursday, February 8, 2018, New York State Assembly Assistant Speaker Felix Ortiz will partner with Fidel F. Del Valle, Commissioner and Chief Administrative Law Judge of New York City’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH), to host OATH’s Commissioner Community Roundtable program at the Sunset Park Library. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. The Sunset Park Library is located at 5108 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11220.
After launching the intimate speaking series last year, the event on February 8th represents the first Commissioner Community Roundtable in this section of Brooklyn.
“As the City’s central independent administrative law court, OATH’s top priority is to make it as easy as possible for those who have been issued summonses from City enforcement agencies to have their day in court,” said OATH Commissioner and Chief Administrative Law Judge, Fidel F. Del Valle. “Through our Community Roundtable program, OATH is working to make sure that the City’s residents have direct access to the people in City government who can answer their questions about City-issued summonses openly and honestly.”
“Too many people have questions about navigating the world of summonses from city offices. The Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) provides a tremendous service to New Yorkers by helping them to get through the legal system. I urge everyone to come to our event at the Sunset Park Library,” said Assistant Speaker Ortiz.
