January Community Update from Assemblymember Shelley Mayer

February 1, 2018

Dear Friend:

With the start of the legislative session in January, half of the week I now spend in Albany advocating for more resources for my district and working on legislation to better the lives of all New Yorkers.

The 2018-19 New York State Budget is due on March 31st, and there are many opportunities for people to make their opinions and needs known so that we can better advocate on your behalf. There are three upcoming Community Budget Forums scheduled in February regarding Governor Cuomo's proposed 2018-19 Executive Budget, and I hope you'll be able to attend one. Please find more details below.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie has announced the release of the Yellow Book, which is the Assembly Majority's Review and Analysis of the 2018-19 Executive Budget. Using this analysis as a resource, the Assembly Majority conference has begun meeting to work on our own budget proposal.

As always, please do not hesitate to let me know if my office can be of assistance to you.

Warm regards,
Shelley B. Mayer
