Brabenec Announces Nearly $1,000,000 in Grants To Local Airports For Upgrades

Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Deerpark) today announced that as part of the Aviation Capital Grant Program, Orange County Airport will receive $882,000 for a new storage hanger and Warwick Municipal Airport will receive $23,400 for taxiway resurfacing and repair. In addition to the recently-announced project grants, $200 million will be awarded through the Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Initiative to fund various airport infrastructure projects.

“I am proud to announce that significant funding will be coming to our area to improve the safety and efficiency of our local airports,” Brabenec said. “The Orange County Airport and Warwick Airport are crucial hubs of travel and commerce both for businesses and individuals. Flight delays and cancellations are extremely frustrating and my hope is that these projects will make travel less cumbersome for patrons. In a time when billions are going downstate for infrastructure projects, it is paramount that we restore parity between all areas of the state and allow New Yorkers the best travel experience possible.”
