Crystal Clear Answers On Crystal Run

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) has questioned the governor’s lack of response to Crystal Run questions. With Tague’s focus on ethics reform taking center stage during his time in Albany, he is questioning why Gov. Cuomo refuses to tackle any questions regarding the funding for Crystal Run.

Crystal Run, a private healthcare company in the Hudson Valley, was a heavy campaign donor to Gov. Cuomo in 2013 to the sum of $400,000. In 2016, the company received a massive award of $25.4 million to assist in the building of two new facilities, even though the construction had already begun. The connection between the donations and the multi-million dollar award is currently being investigated by a federal grand jury.

“This is exactly what I’ve been talking about in terms of corruption in Albany,” Tague said. “Accountability, which seems to be totally lacking in this administration. The money trail for Crystal Run reeks of favoritism and the governor dodging every question regarding it just kicks up a larger smoke cloud around it and you know the old saying, where there’s smoke there’s fire.

“It’s time for real ethics reform in Albany, and I’m dedicated to sponsoring legislation that will add term limits, provide transparency to the bidding process and limit the ability of special interest groups to influence elections.”
