Assemblyman Santabarbara’s Legislation Recognizes Veterans with First AmVets License Plate to be Offered in NY State

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara announced that legislation he authored to offer New York State veterans that are members of AmVets a special license plate unique to the organization has passed unanimously in the State Assembly (A.282-A).

AmVets is the largest and oldest Veteran Service Organization in the country that supports and assists the men and women, who are currently serving or have served, in the U.S. Armed Forces World War II until now, including the National Guard and Reserves.

”Having served in the U.S. Army Reserve, Commander of AmVets Post 35 and now on the State Assembly Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I was proud to work with local veterans to introduce this bill. Veterans that are members of AmVets have served our country and continue to serve their communities through this organization," said Assemblyman Santabarbara.

“I’m very pleased to see Assemblyman Santabarbara’s bill pass with unanimous support today. This bill lets us display our unending patriotism and the pride we have in AmVets with a special license plate just for us," said Doug VanIderstyne, former Commander of AmVets Post 35, Rotterdam, NY.
