Walsh Meets With Local Libraries to Discuss 2017 State Budget

On Wednesday, Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I,Ref-Ballston) welcomed members of the Mohawk Library and Southern Adirondack Library System to discuss the New York Library Association’s state budget priorities for 2017 and the significance libraries play in communities across the state.

“Ensuring our libraries receive necessary funding in this year’s budget is one of my top priorities,” said Walsh. “As a Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly’s Libraries and Education Technology Committee, I have the ability to relay the concerns and goals of the Mohawk Library and Southern Adirondack Library System directly to my fellow committee members, and ensure these systems are able to continue providing wonderful services to our communities. Libraries play such an important role in so many people’s lives, and they must remain a pillar within our communities.”
