Barclay Reminds Kids to Send in Completed Summer Reading Challenges

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) today reminded kids who participated in this year’s Assembly Summer Reading Challenge to send in their completed calendars. Barclay said students who read at least 15 minutes per day for 40 days throughout July and August, and send in their completed reading challenges to the office will receive an Assembly Certificate. Kids will also be invited to a Summer Reading Challenge party which will be held in the fall. Invitations will be mailed to those who complete the challenge.

“This program and party are tools of encouragement for all of our participants every year,” said Barclay. “I look forward to receiving many challenges in the coming weeks. I enjoy reviewing them and learning the kids’ favorite books. There is always a wide variety of interests and readers.”

Local schools and libraries distributed reading challenges this summer. Families can mail or drop off their completed calendars to Assemblyman Barclay, 200 North Second St., Fulton, NY 13069. If you would like to receive a reading challenge, please contact the office at 315-598-5185 or email barclayw@nyassembly.gov.
