Barclay, Oaks Applaud PSC for Approving Fitz Sale

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I—Pulaski) and Assemblyman Bob Oaks (R,C—Macedon) applauded the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) for approving the sale of FitzPatrick today.

“I am glad the PSC approved the sale. The approval reaffirms that thousands of jobs will remain Upstate and that New York is moving forward with a smart energy policy. I’m relieved the PSC remained steadfast and was not clouded by outside agendas. We need to keep energy sources diverse and protect the vital assets we have in nuclear,” said Barclay.

“The Public Service Commission's approval of the sale of the FitzPatrick nuclear power plant to Exelon is great news for Oswego County and the entire region. This was a critical step in assuring that nuclear power continues to be a viable producer of carbon free energy in Upstate New York long into the future,” said Oaks.
