As part of her "Valentines for Vets" program, Assemblymember Pamela J. Hunter (D-Syracuse) announced that she collected over 300 Valentine's Day cards made by K-3 students from Woodland Elementary School. Assemblymember Hunter hand delivered those cards to military veterans at the Syracuse VA Medical Center on Friday, Feb. 12.

"This program gives students the opportunity to send a heartfelt message to those who have served our country and thank them for their efforts and sacrifices," said Assemblymember Hunter. "As a veteran, I know personally how much of a difference small gestures such as these really make in letting someone know just how appreciated they are. It's my hope that this year's Valentines for Vets program can help spread that feeling of gratitude to veterans and their families throughout our community."
