Hawley To ‘Go Red’ In Support Of The Fight Against Heart Disease And Strokes

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) plans to partake in ‘National Wear Red Day’ on Friday, February 3, 2017 in an effort to educate the public about heart disease and strokes. Each year these health terrors cause the deaths of 1 in 3 women, totaling roughly one death every 80 seconds.

“Heart disease and strokes remain among the top killers of men and women across the country,” Hawley said. “I believe it’s extremely important for everyone to join in and wear red to show their support for the fight against these deadly illnesses. By wearing red you are standing up to these evils and raising awareness and vigilance so we can help prevent these diseases and more attention can be given to one day finding a cure. I encourage my constituents and all New Yorkers to take a stand and join me by wearing red on Friday.”

Orleans Community Health is leading the way to make a difference on ‘Wear Red Day.’ They would also like to encourage people wearing red to submit pictures to them that will be featured on the hospital’s Facebook page and website.
