Assemblymember Wallace Announces Committee Appointments

Assemblymember Monica Wallace (D-Lancaster) announced she has been appointed to five Assembly standing committees: Aging, Energy, Local Governments, Real Property Taxation and Veterans’ Affairs.

“I am honored to serve on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee and address issues of concern to those who honorably and selflessly served our country,” Wallace said.

Wallace noted that, as a member of the Aging Committee, she will have the opportunity to advance legislation that benefits and protects our senior population. Wallace recently joined Senator Kirsten Gillibrand at the Cheektowaga Senior Center to discuss ways of combatting fraud attempts on seniors. “I plan to continue fighting for issues that matter to our seniors as a member of the Aging Committee,” Wallace said.

Wallace is also delighted to serve on the Local Governments Committee, as it will give her the chance to bring the concerns of the towns and villages in her district to Albany. “This district encompasses two towns and three villages, so it is especially important to have a voice for those municipalities at the state level,” Wallace stated.

Assemblymember Wallace was elected in 2016 to serve as the Assemblymember for the 143rd District, which includes the towns of Cheektowaga and Lancaster, and the villages of Depew, Lancaster and Sloan. Her office is located at 2562 Walden Ave, Suite 102 and can be reached at (716) 686-0080.
