Assemblywoman Amy Paulin to Honor the Women of Pelham

Scarsdale – Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-88), in honor of Women’s History Month, is seeking nominations from the community to help show her appreciation for the remarkable women who inspire and help make Pelham a better place to live and work. These phenomenal women will be named the 2017 Women of Distinction and celebrated at a 4 p.m. awards ceremony on April 29 at The Daronco Town House (20 Fifth Avenue in Pelham).

Awards will be given to women for their work in various fields, including health care, business, volunteer work, education, humanitarian work and military service. Westchester County Legislator Jim Maisano and Pelham Town Supervisor Pete DiPaola will join Paulin this year to present the honors.

“So many Pelham women are paving the way for a brighter future, breaking barriers and shaking things up for the greater good of our community,” Paulin said. “The Women of Distinction Awards is our way of saying thank you.”

This is the second time Paulin has recognized the women of Pelham. Previous years’ honorees include women from Tuckahoe (2016), Bronxville (2015) and Pelham (2014). Congress declared in 1987 that Women’s History Month be celebrated annually in March. It is a month to commemorate and highlight the notable accomplishments of women who have contributed to society.
