Raia Recognized For Environmentally Conscious Record

October 17, 2017

Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,C,I,Ref-East Northport) was recognized by the EPL/Environmental Advocates as one of three Minority assemblymen who broke from their party to vote yes on environmentally-conscious legislation. Raia, along with Assemblymen Chad Lupinacci and Anthony Palumbo, received scores of 87 out of 100 on the organization’s Environmental Scorecard. A link to the report by the EPL/Environmental Advocates can be found at their Web site.

“As our climate changes rapidly around us, it is imperative that we as legislators introduce and support legislation that addresses this impending threat,” said Raia. “From expansive state parks to beautiful oceanfront, New York boasts an impressive geographic diversity that must be protected and maintained from the effects of excess emissions and climate change. While we may represent only a small portion of the world’s pollutants, it is still crucial we do our part to preserve the fragile ecosystems here and around the globe that are affected by these changes. I would like to thank the EPL/Environmental Advocates for their unwavering commitment to environmental consciousness, my colleagues for their dedication and I look forward to building upon the success we’ve made now and into the future.”
