Assemblyman Santabarbara Hosts Annual Autism Action Day at the State Capitol

State-wide Autism support groups, organizations direct-care providers, self-advocates, families expected to gather in Albany

Hosted by Assemblyman Santabarbara, Chair of the New York State Assembly’s Sub-Committee on Autism Spectrum Disorders, now, in its 11th year, this day of advocacy has brought together organizations, self-advocates and family members together with legislators from across the state.

Guest speakers include Myron Pincomb, Board Chairman of the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), Janine Kruiswijk, Executive Director of the Autism Society of the Great Hudson Region, John Robinson, CEO of Our Ability, Dr. Steady Moono, President of SUNY Schenectady and Paul Milton, CEO of Ellis Hospital.

In addition, Assemblyman Santabarbara will present the 2023 New York State Autism Action Award to Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience Schenectady| Exhibition Hub in recognition of their monthly sensory friendly days that allow for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families enjoy the exhibit in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
