Assemblyman Jones Tours North Country Businesses with Assembly Majority leader

Assemblyman Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay) kicked off his 2018 district tour with a visit to Saranac Lake alongside Assembly Majority Leader Joseph D. Morelle (D-Irondequoit). Together, they discussed economic issues in the North Country with business leaders.

“The district tour is an opportunity for me to listen to the concerns of residents and businesses here in the North Country so I can make our voices heard in Albany,” Jones said. “It was a great opportunity to have Mr. Morelle here as well, so the Assembly leadership understands firsthand the unique challenges facing our region.”

During their visit to Saranac Lake, Jones and Morelle toured the Hotel Saranac, which was recently remodeled to restore its historic architecture with funding from the North Country Regional Economic Development Council. They also attended the Economic Development Roundtable Lunch hosted by the North Country Chamber of Commerce. Jones and Morelle concluded their day with a tour of the Trudeau Institute, where they learned about its partnership with Clarkson University to bring scientific innovation to the North Country while boosting the economy.
