Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st AD) recently honored Vincent Castelli of South Hempstead for his service to our country. Castelli was named to the 2017 Veterans Hall of Honor and awarded a New York state proclamation commemorating the recognition.

“Vincent Castelli is a model of bravery and a credit to our community,” said Curran. “During his service in the U.S. Army, he was wounded and was later awarded the Purple Heart. After his military service, Vincent joined the local fire district, serving in many capacities including the position of fire chief. In his continuing commitment to our community, he served as commissioner for 26 years and remains active with the fire department today. We would like to personally thank Vincent Castelli for his service and dedication to our country and our community. I am proud to induct him into our Veterans Hall of Honor.”
