Curran Rises In Assembly Minority Conference Leadership
Today, Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook – 21st AD) was assigned to the post of Assistant Minority Whip of the New York State Assembly Minority Conference. With this role, Curran will now serve as a member of the conference’s leadership, using his influence to help organize the Minority Conference votes on the Assembly Chamber floor.
“I am honored to serve our conference in a leadership capacity and continue to help craft our message and ideals for a better New York state,” said Curran. “In this new role I will aid with operations on the floor of the Assembly and work to ensure that membership is always on the same page in doing what is best for our residents.”
Assemblyman Curran has also been newly appointed as the ranking Minority member of the Minority Conference on the Assembly Codes Committee. The Codes Committee considers issues and evaluates legislation regarding the state’s criminal and civil justice system.
Additionally, Curran will maintain his position as Minority ranker on the Assembly Ethics Committee, a post he has held since he was first elected in 2010.
