"I think the bail reform could go further, but it's gotten to the point where at least black, brown, and poor people who are suffering on Riker's Island because they don't have $500 or $1,000 bail now will be released in their own recognizance. So for those reasons I will be supporting this resolution," stated Assemblymember Charles Barron speaking on the Assembly Budget Proposal for New York State's fiscal year 2018-2019 during Assembly Legislative Session.
