Lavine Welcomes Plainview Cadet on West Point Day

Assemblyman Charles D. Lavine (D-Glen Cove) was pleased to introduce Cadet Jungmin Lee, a Plainview resident and junior at the United States Military Academy at West Point, in the Assembly Chamber, on West Point Day.

Cadet Lee, Class of 2019, is an economics and operational research major and is a member of the USMA String Ensemble.

A 2015 graduate of Plainview Old Bethpage High School, Lee was a member of the National Honor Society, National Merit Scholar, an Eagle Scout and a Model UN participant. In his spare time he was a swim instructor and is a gifted musician.

“Unquestionably Cadet Jungmin Lee represents the very best of America,” said Lavine “He reflects honor, courage, love of nation and most of all integrity.”

This year marks the 66th Annual West Point Day at the Capitol. Each year members of the Assembly have the opportunity to meet distinguished officers and cadets out of the 216 year old USMA.
