Web Site Gives Public Opportunity To Suggest Ways To Make Government More Efficient

Assemblyman Christopher Friend (R- Big Flats) wants New Yorkers to take advantage of the opportunity to submit their ideas on how to streamline government. Governor Cuomo has launched the Spending and Government Efficiency (SAGE) Commission’s web site that will allow the public to take an active role in the efforts to right size government and save taxpayers money.

“This is a great chance to have your voice heard and bring positive change to Albany,” said Friend. “Waste is a serious issue that depletes needed resources and undermines the legitimacy of government. The web site will allow the state to solicit ideas to help combat inefficiencies while also giving the public a vested role in the process.”

Those wishing to submit suggestions and learn more about the SAGE Commission’s efforts can go to www.governor.ny.gov/sage. The SAGE Commission is a critical part of the reform process and has been tasked by the governor to make New York state more efficient, accountable, and effective.

“Once again, I encourage people to participate in this important process and help New York become a leaner, more effective state,” said Friend. “Saving money is something we all try to incorporate into our daily lives and it is my hope that, with your help, we can encourage New York to do the same.”
