Stec Calls on Majority to Bring Public Officers Accountability Act to Floor

A statement from Assemblyman Dan Stec (R,C,I-Queensbury)
April 16, 2018

“The lack of ethics reform measures during budget negotiations and then today’s rejection of the Public Officers Accountability Act have been frustrating to see. Since taking office I have always remained on the front lines of Albany’s battle against corruption. Unfortunately, this year ethics reform talks have been at a whisper. As Sheldon Silver begins his retrial today you would imagine an ethics reform package as extensive as this would at least make it to the floor for debate, but instead the Assembly Majority decided not to move the bill forward. I hope in the coming months the Assembly Majority will see the need for ethical changes in this body and will bring this bill to the floor for a vote.”
