McDonough Announces Women’s Protections Become Law Today

Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) statement on planks of the Women’s Equality Act officially becoming law today

“I am pleased to announce that several measures to protect New York’s women have officially become law today, including measures to prevent sexual harassment and prohibit discrimination against mothers-to-be in the workplace, as well as measures to support victims of domestic violence. The Assembly Minority Conference led the fight for these initiatives, even when the Assembly Majority used them to attack us during last year’s campaign cycle. Our unwavering stance for the progression of women’s rights allowed us to break through Albany’s culture of gridlock and make real progress. Today is a tremendous day in the history of our state, and I am proud to have been part of it.”
