Ra Hosts Successful Toy Drive, Fills 15-Foot U-Haul with Donations for Children

Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) hosted a toy drive this season with 10 schools and one library serving as donation sites. Participating in the toy drive were Franklin Square School District, Carle Place School District, Mineola School District, New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School District and the Hillside Public Library. All donations were brought to the John Theissen Children’s Foundation and NYU Langone Hospital.

“Thank you to every individual who donated to this toy drive. With your help, we filled a 15-foot U-Haul with donations of toys, games, stuffed animals and books, all of which were delivered to sick and underprivileged children across Long Island. We couldn’t have done this without our participating schools and libraries collecting donations as well as the John Theissen Children’s Foundation and NYU Langone Hospital that received and distributed the toys,” Ra said.

“These simple acts of compassion knit our communities together and allow for every child to experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season. If you missed this event, look out for future events on my Facebook page that will provide for the ongoing needs of children in our community,” Ra concluded.
