Ra Hosts Annual Shed the Meds Event

Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) will partner with Sen. Kemp Hannon (R,C,I-Nassau County) for Shed the Meds, where people are encouraged to drop off any expired or unwanted medication so it can be properly disposed.

“Many people flush unwanted or expired medication down the toilet, which can lead to contamination of the water our families drink,” said Ra. “It is crucial that people learn that this, and other incorrect forms of medication disposal, is dangerous to our health and environment. I encourage anyone with unwanted or expired medication to attend the event so the Nassau County Police Department can properly dispose of it and in turn keep us, and the neighborhoods we live in, safe.”
