Ra Supports Crackdown on Fentanyl Analogs

“I’m pleased that the governor’s agenda for 2020 includes banning fentanyl analogs by making their sale subject to the same criminal penalties attached to other dangerous opioids. Combatting the heroin and opioid epidemic effectively means being adaptable. The governor’s proposal will allow the commissioner of health to ban new fentanyl analogs as they’re added to the federal schedule of controlled substances.

“Fentanyl and its synthetic copycats fuel explosive profits for cartel operatives and deadly overdoses alike. They can be 100 times more powerful than morphine. Banning them means we can crack down on the dealers who are tearing our families apart. I look forward to passing this legislation quickly and in bipartisan fashion,” said Ra.
