New York State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) has received a 95 environmental rating for the 2016 Legislative Session from New York State’s leading statewide environmental organization EPL/Environmental Advocates, the highest score given to any State Legislator. Scores were based on member votes on several environmental bills including, but not limited to: closing the Hazardous Waste Loophole, the Child Safe Products Act, the NYS Climate and Community Protection Act, a Triclosan Ban, and the Testing School Drinking Water for Lead.

In the State Assembly the highest score was 95 and the lowest score was 7. In the Senate, the highest score was 92 and the lowest score was 49.

Thiele stated, “The protection of our State’s environmental resources has always been one of my highest priorities. I am confident that this is reflected in the work I have done for my District, but also through regional and state-wide initiatives. Our economy and public health depends on protecting our environmental integrity.”
