Assemblyman Dinowitz, Comptroller Stringer, Council Member Cohen, TransitCenter, CIDNY and NYPIRG Straphanger’s Campaign to Hold Press Conference on Lack of Subway Accessibility

Bronx, NY – State Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, City Comptroller Scott Stringer, TransitCenter, CIDNY, and the NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign to hold Press Conference protesting the lack of ADA compliant accessible subway platforms, working elevators and overall lack of accessible transportation in New York City.

WHO: Assemblyman Dinowitz Chair of Assembly Committee on Corporations Authorities and Commissions, City Comptroller Scott Stringer, Council Member Andrew Cohen, Mel Plaut, Program Analyst at TransitCenter, Monica Bartley, Community Outreach Organizer for CIDNY, and Jaqi Cohen, Campaign Coordinator of NYPIRG Straphanger’s Campaign.

WHAT: A call for the MTA to improve elevator maintenance practices and to develop a new plan to reach 100% ADA Compliance within a reasonable time frame.
