NYC Majority Vote to Kill Strongest Ethics Reform Package In State History

A Statement from Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark)

“Today is an absolutely shameful day in Albany as New York City Politicians voted to kill a comprehensive ethics reform package, sorely needed to drain the swamp of corruption.

“On the day of Sheldon Silver’s retrial nonetheless, Assembly Majority from New York City voted against a bill that would make failure to report corruption a crime and prohibit the use of campaign donations for legal defense.

“Politicians are perhaps content with perpetuating Albany’s embarrassing culture, lack the courage to stand for integrity, are protecting one of their own or any combination of the aforementioned. Either way, this is neither good government nor what hardworking taxpayers deserve.”
