Blankenbush Welcomes West Point Cadet Brandon A. Lloyd To Capitol

Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) had the honor of introducing Cadet Brandon A. Lloyd of Watertown at the annual West Point Day celebration in Albany. This is Cadet Lloyd’s second visit to the Capitol.

“I know I can say on behalf of North Country residents we are very proud of the hard work and accomplishments of Cadet Brandon Lloyd,” said Blankenbush. “His time at West Point will shape him into the type of leader our country needs. He is part of our Ft. Drum family, and we wish him the best of luck in all his educational and professional pursuits.”

Cadet Lloyd is a graduate of South Jefferson High School and is expected to graduate from West Point in 2017. He is the son of Chief Warrant Officer (CW) and Mrs. Greg Lloyd. His father has served on two tours in Afghanistan with Ft. Drum. Brandon has been assigned to Company B and is active in the Sandhurst Competition, which showcases military skills.

The U.S. Military Academy at West Point is the oldest continually-running military officer-training educational institution in the nation. West Point, a public college, has consistently been ranked among the country’s best higher education institutions. Notable alumni include presidents Ulysses S. Grant and Dwight D.
