Blankenbush Joins Colleagues for Infrastructure Rally

Today, Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) joined hundreds of workers from across the state to advocate for increased highway and bridge funding in this year’s state budget. The annual Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) rally took place in the Legislative Office Building on Wednesday, where legislators spoke about the importance of fair funding for upstate communities’ road and bridge projects.

“Each year I am thrilled to see the hundreds of supporters and their orange shirts visit Albany and join me in advocating for our district’s fair share of infrastructure funding,” said Blankenbush. “Our families rely on safe and reliable roads and structurally-sound bridges for travel to school, work and any other facet of daily life, and it is crucial that this year’s state budget includes funding to complete the necessary projects across the district.

“The funding we receive is also an important factor when it comes to job creation for the highway and road workers living in our community,” said Blankenbush. “The more funding we are able to allocate for the 117th District, the more projects we are able to undertake and the result is more jobs.”
