“I am pleased that the Governor has signed our East Ramapo agreement into law today. This approval moves us one step closer to restoring critical programs for students that will be sitting in classrooms come September. The proposal puts in place strong oversight including binding budget recommendations by the Commissioner and the presence of monitors on a day-to-day basis. It is the first real step in addressing the serious issues that the district faces, as well as a hopeful sign that we can begin to restore trust and mend the community through a collaborative relationship.”
