Assemblyman Zebrowski on Proposed Congestion Pricing & the Shortchange of West of Hudson Commuters

“As the Governor is set to deliver his State of the State address today, it is believed that a specific congestion pricing plan will be announced. It must be said that any proposals to address MTA’s shortfalls and congestion must take into account West of Hudson commuters who have limited mass transit options.

For years, West of Hudson commuters have faced significant fare hikes, slashes in service and elimination of trains leaving commuters with no choice but to drive into Manhattan. Any conversation regarding this type of major change must include these commuters. People simply have no other transit options, and shouldn’t be forced to pay a fee for our failure to provide viable alternatives.”
