Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre Passes Legislation Protecting Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse

“As a mother, there is nothing I wouldn’t do to protect my daughter, and as an elected official, it is my job to help protect each and every child in our community. That’s why I passed legislation that would give a stronger voice to victims of childhood sexual abuse (A.5885-A).

“The Child Victims Act empowers those who have been abused and gives them more time to bring charges against their abusers. The pain and suffering they experienced is unimaginable, and they deserve every opportunity to seek justice and move on with their lives.”
