Johns Praises Bipartisan Effort To Deliver Emergency Funding For Lake Ontario Flood Victims
For many years I expressed my opposition to the IJC’s Plan 2014. Unfortunately, the plan went ahead and now New Yorkers are literally losing their lives and property as a result. In this very unfortunate state of emergency, I have continued my efforts to keep constituents updated while working in Albany to provide the funding needed by our municipalities and individual citizens alike. We have already delivered some funding for our communities, and today we in the Assembly passed a measure that would provide another $90 million to homeowners, businesses and local governments to deal with Lake Ontario flooding. I am proud to be a sponsor of this measure and hope it will be quickly be signed into law.
