Walsh Calls For Increased CHIPS Funding

Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I-Ballston) stood with New York state highway workers to call for an increase in funding to the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS). CHIPS provides funds throughout the state for roads, bridges and highway projects.

“Our roads, particularly in upstate New York, continue to deteriorate. We need to work together to repair and maintain our infrastructure. If we don’t take proactive measures now, we will be facing even more dangerous problems down the line that will cost much more to address,” said Walsh. “I was proud to stand with over 700 highway officials and fellow legislators in calling for a $150 million increase in state aid to help our local towns and counties successfully repair our roads.”
