Assemblyman Matt Simpson on loss of longtime Glens Falls National President Tom Hoy

Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Horicon) shares his condolences after the passing of former President of Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Co. Tom Hoy. Hoy’s career began with Glens Falls National nearly 50 years ago in 1974 when he started as a management trainee. He would continue to hold various senior management positions within the bank until being named president in 1995, a role he held until 2012. In more recent years, Hoy served on the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York Board of Directors and was the chairman of the board at Arrow Financial.

“I had the pleasure of working with and knowing Tom since my time with the Warren and Washington Industrial Development Agency. Tom’s leadership led to many strong foundations for small- and medium-sized businesses in the region. He was instrumental in many key positive developments for the area and had a rich understanding of the sacrifices and challenges business owners face. I am saddened by the news of his passing and wish to extend my thoughts and deepest condolences to his family,” said Simpson.
