Durso: Legislation Recognizing Eagle Scouts and Girl Scouts Voted Down

A statement from Assemblyman Michael Durso (R-Massapequa Park) on Albany Majority placing emphasis on party politics.

“I am disappointed and frustrated that the Assembly Majority blocked the Youth Scout Recognition Bills (A.4147) & (A.4437) I introduced and put in front of the Transportation Committee. This is yet another example of single-party rule stonewalling legislation for nothing more than politics. Partisan rule at this level does not work for New Yorkers.

This legislation was an opportunity to honor Eagle Scouts and Girl Scout Gold Award Recipients respectively through distinctive license plates. There is no reason this non-political bill should have been voted down in committee. As a result, it will not reach the assembly floor.”
